Job Description

Job Purpose and Context:

  • To contribute to happy living by delivering a quality catering service in line with health, safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Working within a care-home environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Minimising wastage when preparing meals and using equipment correctly.
  • Compliance with food safety and health and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report any signs of abuse.
  • Escalate concerns / issues as appropriate.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and drinks within the location.
  • Follow Health and Safety and food safety procedures. 
  • Keep the kitchen equipment, crockery and utensils clean and hygienic and report concerns to line manager. 
  • To serve meals to customers as required. 

Outcomes of Duties:

  • Customers receive meals and snacks as required.
  • Customer feedback sought and responded to. 
  • No accidents and incidents reported.
  • No food safety risks. 
  • No infection control issues.
  • Satisfactory food safety and health and safety audits.
  • Equipment and utensils maintained to a high standard. 
  • Colleagues participate in activities.
  • Customer satisfaction measures. 

Experience:

  • Previous catering experience.
  • Experience of working with older people.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 food safety certificate.

Additional Requirements:

  • Please confirm whether you have had at least your 1st Covid Vaccine (If you have not please confirm a valid reason why not)
  • If you have not had your vaccine, do you intend on having it within the next 7 days?

Additional Information:

  • This role is Ad-Hoc. Meaning that the will be various shifts that you may be required to undertake with short notice at times.
  • This role is based in a variety of locations, some of which include London, Surrey, Leeds, Suffolk. Upon application, please state the location you would prefer to be based in/
  • Bank holidays and weekend shifts rates tend to differ from the regular rate.
