1 month contract with A Local Authority
Job Summary:
Plan and provide nutritious meals to all residents on a daily basis, ensuring food purchased is fresh and within budget. Ensure all health and safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.
Key Duties/Accountabilities:
Prepare, cook and present well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating cultural and dietary needs as required by the residents of the care home.
Work closely with residents to plan menus that reflect choice and preferences.
Supervise and train kitchen staff in the methods of production, service and standards required in the care home kitchen including organisation of work rotas where required.
Work as a team with other kitchen staff to complete all the daily duties necessary within the care home kitchen.
Maintain accurate records as required by the care home including stock control, food orders, invoice recording, cash reconciliation, accurate cash records, sickness reporting, completion of timesheets, productivity levels, weekly catering records and all other documents as required for audit purposes.
Maintain an acceptable level of hygiene and cleanliness at all times and be aware of and be responsible for all relevant Health and Safety and Environmental Health Agencies regulations in the kitchen area.
Purchase supplies in accordance with the planned menu, whilst monitoring and controlling the stock from suppliers.

Essential Experience Required:
Experience of food preparation and service.
Experience of working in a Care Home kitchen environment
Experience of working with older people
Essential Qualifications Required:
Basic Food Hygiene Training NVQ Level 1 or equivalent.
NVQ 2/3 in Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
