Job Summary:

To lead and manage key programmes including the delivery and ongoing development of an activity and healthy food programme for children and young people during the school holidays.

Key Duties (Sample):

Lead on all aspects of the planning, delivery and reporting of a programme of holiday

activities and food for Islington children and young people and their families

Lead on identifying, engaging and managing relationships with key partners both internal

and external, securing their support and involvement in order to achieve a successful

programme

Lead on the development of provision which meets the needs of local families through

engaging existing and new activity and food providers, providing support and information

which enables them to deliver high quality programmes

Ensure effective use of available resources and funding to support provision which is

inclusive, accessible, high quality, and meets the needs of local families and the

requirements of the government-funded HAF programme

Develop a quality assurance programme which supports HAF providers to improve the

quality of their provision for the benefit of eligible children and young people and gives

assurance that providers are meeting the framework of minimum standards (including

safeguarding requirements and meals that meet school food standards)

Ensure systems are in place which enable timely reporting on take up and other

measures as agreed, including the submission of accurate data and finance returns to

DfE

Convene and report to a steering group which includes all relevant partners internal and

external in order to provide strategic direction and oversee programme delivery

Provide effective and efficient project management for other programmes as required,

including detailed project plans and other relevant project documentation to ensure

effective monitoring and reporting of project progress including appropriate escalation of

risks and issues

Lead the work of the Early Childhood Information and Development Officer

Produce high quality written reports for key stakeholders including members as required

in order to support programme evaluation and decision-making

Essential Experience and Qualification:

Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Experience of developing and providing high quality play and enrichment activities for

children and young people

Significant high level project management experience in local government or the voluntary sector
