We are looking to recruit a dedicated and talented individual that will help see us through the 2025/26 budget and MTFS refresh. The contract will be through to March 2025 initially. The process is well underway with Cabinet receiving its initial estimates of the scale of the challenge but the members and officers are keen to ensure the Council is put on a sustainable footing securing the Boroughs future and services the residents desire. The post will support the Strategic Finance Manager - Financial Planning/MTFS. Together you will lead on the development and delivery of medium-term financial planning, coordination of the Council's annual budget process, in conjunction with Senior Leaders and Finance Business Partner colleagues. Leading on the alignment with Corporate and Service planning processes and key strategies such as the Treasury Management Strategy. The key aim is delivery of longer-term financial sustainability in a complex and financially challenged authority. The role will also coordinate financial monitoring and reporting processes across the Council ensuring regular reporting to the council's leadership, improving current processes and ensuring that they are fit for purpose and provide information that aligns financial and service delivery, providing insights to decision-makers, working closely with Finance Business Partners, and coordinating processes for development of financial mitigations.
