3 months contract with a North London based Local Authority
Job Summary:
The post holder is responsible for managing and delivering complex and multiple projects simultaneously across the Housing Advisory Service.
This includes planning, implementation, transition to live and management of project resources.
The post holder will manage a range of projects supporting the service such as: Customer Charter implementation, Third sector and partners stakeholder mapping & Exempt accommodation review.
The post holder will ensure that projects are delivered within financial, quality and scope constraints that they are also responsible for project reporting and the production of all project-related artefacts.
The post holder reports to the Head of Service Development, Performance and Insights and will work closely with all areas of the Housing Advisory Service.
Key Duties/Accountabilities:
Responsible for planning, managing, co-ordinating and reporting on activities to implement one or more projects from proposal to initiation to delivery including the transition into business-as-usual.
Ensuring the projects are managed to realise business benefits.
Managing project budgets in accordance with the Council's financial procedure.
Ensuring that projects are delivered to scope, within budget and to agreed timeframes, prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability.
Managing dependencies across their projects.
Reporting regularly on project status, risks, issues and expenditure, developing and coordinating the creation and definition of the portfolio, programme and project management processes, procedures, tools, reporting and techniques.
Working with multidisciplinary teams of stakeholders from a variety of business areas and within the Housing Advisory Service
To develop and implement service improvement projects on behalf of the Housing Advisory Service as requested for example: customer charter, stakeholder mapping of partners and third sector
Prepare and present reports including recommendations for Senior Managers on outcomes of research, project plans and monitoring across projects in their remit
Working with Head of Service Development, Performance and Insights to ensure that they are informed around project progress, risks, issues and mitigation solutions
Essential Experience Required:
Experience in project officer role, preferably within a housing or public sector environment.
Knowledge of housing and homelessness and the problems facing local government.
Experience of managing and delivering complex and multiple projects simultaneously.
Producing high quality work despite pressurised deadlines.
Essential Qualifications Required:
A project management or business management qualification is preferred.
