3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
As a HR Support Officer, you will work alongside HR colleagues to deliver the HR and Corporate Strategy through the provision of a seamless end to end recruitment service and deal with all employee life cycle transactional matters for the Housing Management Division.
A key focus of the role will be to provide excellent, customer focussed front line services, acting as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, providing advice and guidance on a range of employee issues and ensuring that all payroll matters are processed in a timely and accurate way.
You will also maintain HR systems to a high standard, taking responsibility for ensuring that systems are accurate and up to date at all times.
The role involves developing effective working relationships both internally and externally and collaborating effectively with team members.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
Deliver transactional HR, payroll and recruitment services in accordance with legislation, organisational policies and good practice;
Act as a key point of contact for internal and external customers in respect of services provided;
Maintain robust establishment control through the administration of core transactional and recruitment policies, including updating of HR ICT systems;
Apply our policies in a professional and fair way, making pragmatic decisions that support the delivery of our business plan and vision;
Work continuously with HR team colleagues to act on customer feedback and performance outcomes in order to identify ways we can improve our services.
Essential Experience Required:
Experience of using and maintaining HR databases and systems such as Resource Link or similar is essential.
Experience of HR best practice and how it applies to the workplace is essential.
Experience of providing generalist, customer-focused HR administrative support services such as payroll, benefits and/or recruitment, including use of HR/workforce management IT systems is essential.
Essential Qualification Required:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at Grade 9-4 (A* to C) including English and Maths is essential.
CIPD Level 3 qualification, or experience and understanding that can be demonstrated as conferring the same level of expertise is essential.
