Job Summary:

Social Worker Lead Practitioners are expected to deliver the councils vision of strengths based social care we rely on working closely with our partners and importantly our competent, confident, creative, and caring workforce

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

The mentoring and supervision to staff within the team ensuring professional standards and best practice.

Ensuring that the responsibility of safeguarding adults at risk is a fundamental element of this job and that the principles are embedded in all procedures, practices, professional advice, decisions and support.

Working alongside and when required deputising for the team manager to prompt an environment of a supportive team enabling them and yourself to work with individuals to promote and support independence choice and control with wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.

Conducting individual complex assessments and safeguarding enquiries to establish clear, relevant, proportionate, and appropriate options for the individual to meet their identified outcomes.

Working in partnership with adults, their families, carers and advocates, colleagues, external organisations to provide appropriate, professional social work support for vulnerable older people, adults with physical and sensory impairment or learning disability and carers

Essential Experience Required:

Must have a minimum of 2 years UK experience working in adult social care as a social worker

Must have experience of supervising or mentoring social worker staff

Must have experience of complex case work

Additional information to note:

We offer a 36 hour a week, hybrid working with a mixture of office and home working, although staff are welcome to be office based fulltime if they wish.
