Job Summary:
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Team Leader to join our Revenues and Benefits Systems Support Team. You will report to the Business Rates Support & Development Manager and work within a small Systems Team providing technical support to colleagues across the Revenues and Benefits service to ensure efficient use of Capita One Revenues and Benefits and NEC Document Management systems.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
Manage the team to ensure all staff carryout their duties and responsibilities as defined by their job description. Update the Business Rates Support & Development Manager on all system related issues pertaining to Housing Benefit, Council Tax, and Business Rates performance on a regular basis.
Manage the Revenues and Benefits year end reconciliation and annual billing process as directed. Ensure accurate bills and benefit award letters are produced in line with legislation.
Take action, respond to and provide technical advice on user enquiries including complex enquiries.
Manage all third-party contract relationships. Ensure rigorous monitoring of third-party contract performance by regularly reviewing KPIs, implementing regular reporting and performance reviews.
Ensure qualitative and quantitative performance standards and targets are in place that meet expectations, highlight staff training needs, and support improvements and that performance against standards and targets is monitored, and, where appropriate, action is taken in line with the Council's capability procedures.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, able to work unsupervised and committed to early mornings, evening and weekend work when required, particularly at key times of the year.
Essential Experience Required:
Experience in working within a Revenues and Benefits environment using both the Capita One Revenues and Benefits system and Enterprise is essential.
Experience of all legislation relevant to the accurate administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax and Business Rates is essential.
Experience of Housing Benefit subsidy is essential.
Experience in the use of MS Office 365 applications is essential.
Experience working with Client Project Teams / Internal Departments (Legal / Insurance / Data Officers / etc) to assist with drafting documents with the Client Project Team and ensure the Tender Packs are complete with all relevant information (including weightings and sub-criteria), all as supported and guided is essential.
Essential Qualification Required:
General education qualification is essential.

Working hours: 35 hours per week.
The role is hybrid and our office is based at Laurence House (Catford, SE6).
