This Infrastructure Team performs a key function within the IT Department, with specific focus on the build, support and maintenance of the underlying infrastructure. The team consists of a mix of server, network and database engineers as well as working with technical 3 rd party partners and operate in line with a number of KPI's.


It is a primary function of this role to ensure the servers are brought fully up to date with patches and software revisions.

The Engineer will work as part of an onsite team in providing system support, working on tasks allocated by the technical Infrastructure Team Manager. The team will also work in close partnership with other members across the IT department, either based locally on site, or centrally based working within the IT Team. It is therefore essential that the Engineer follows the agreed protocols, standards and processes.

  • Perform server patch management to bring the server infrastructure up to an acceptable compliance status.
  • Ensure all systems conform to industry standard security guidelines and are in line with vendor best practices.
  • Ensure all systems comply with the company Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery service agreements.
  • Escalate any unusual or unexpected issues to line management immediately
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of documentation and support tickets.
  • Enjoys positive peer and colleague reviews, and customer feedback.
  • Adheres to change-control guidelines and ticketing processes.
  • Strives to complete set tasks within deadline as set by line manager / project managers.
  • Delivers work to a quality standard within the technical specification.


  • Must have 2 years providing 3 rd line technical support.
  • Must have worked on Virtualised Server platforms.
  • Strong end user device / Server and Storage skills.
  • Strong SCCM skills in server patch management
  • Strong capabilities in following processes and documentation.
  • Adaptable to change and new requirements.
  • Self-motivated, proactive with a can do attitude .
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Recent Microsoft Server qualification (MCSA).
